Per several recommendations, we finally made our way to a specialty park in our neighborhood…

Unfortunately, this roadway is only for people-powered vehicles… otherwise, we’d be all over bringing the power wheels and taking it for a spin!!! Then again, I'm pretty our insurance doesn't cover power wheels/park accidents.... best follow the rules on this one ;)!

Like Buttah

Reading has had an unanticipated impact on my kids of late. If you’ve ever read the Mercy Watson series, you know the book’s namesake main character – the pig – is fond of toast with butter…

So every day, Finn asks for “toast with quite a bit of butter,” constantly questioning whether the amount of butter I’ve put on said toast is, indeed, quite a bit!!!

And fyi - I believe the increase in greasy fingerprints throughout the house is evidence of my ability to fulfill the requirements of quite a bit.

Backyard Safari

Before, the kids and I used to meander through the neighborhood on critter searches (See here). Now, we’re able to see what’s lurking in our own backyard…

Luckily, none of the critters we came across had hair, teeth, and whiskers… although this may all change once the fruit trees ripen…!

A recent trip to a local farm allowed us to visit during the animals’ mealtime…

…Which ended up in us needing to feed the kiddos STAT!

Perhaps we should have just offered them some alfalfa to gnaw on?!
